Welcome to Mrs. Wallin's Classroom! My name is Krystal Wallin. I am originally from Northern Wisconsin, on the shores of Lake Superior. Because I grew up in such a small, snowy town, I enjoy the outdoors, everything from skiing and snow shoeing in the winter, to boating, hiking, and camping in the summer. After graduating high school I moved to the Duluth, MN area where I attended the University of Wisconsin-Superior. I majored in elementary education with a minor in special education. After graduating, I was hired as a cross-categorical special education teacher for a small, rural school. While teaching in Maple I had the opportunity to teach both special education, grades K-5, and 1st grade general education. While I was attending UWS I met my now husband. We relocated to the Atlanta area in 2011 when my husband decided to attend Life University. During this time I finished my master's degree in special education and took a job in Cobb County as a special education teacher at Norton Park Elementary School. While teaching in Cobb I had the opportunity to present at the Cobb County Summer Special Education Academy and at KSU in the continuing education program. In 2014 we moved back to Wisconsin and started a family. My husband and I have 2 boys, Greyson & Jamesen, and two large dogs, Tanner & Letty. While we were in Wisconsin I taught for the Gogebic-Ontonagon Intermediate School District as their elementary level MOID teacher in a special needs classroom. Eventually the cold weather got to us and we were missing the GA weather and people. In 2016 my husband and I purchased a chiropractic office in Dunwoody, GA and I was hired back in Cobb County.
I have enjoyed teaching since I was little and the older I get the more I enjoy helping children find their potential. My classroom door is always open and welcome parent involvement in the class to assist with rotations, story time, and special projects. I look forward to working with your child as they continue to blossom into young learners.
